Bulky body aids weren’t so long ago! A super kind man called Chris donated his body worn hearing aids to Hearing Aid Recycling in 2024. He had worn them as a child in the late 1960’s. He hoped we may be able to put them to positive use. He had, had a love/hate relationship with them. Loving the connection they gave him to the world around him. Hating being banged on the chin when he was running around with his friends. Friends he very well may not have had without the hearing aids. A double edged bang on the chin, if ever there was one!
Hearing Aid Recycling‘s Zöe explained that they were possibly a little too old for us to get them working helping others as hearing aids. However, we felt they were such an important representation of hearing assistance past we’d like to get them out and about helping us highlight the work we’re doing.
We took them to DeafExpo 2026 at the NEC in May. Did you see us there? We’ll be at DeafExpo 2027 – will you?
