How to Donate

Our Hearing Aid Recycling is transforming lives through better hearing by recovering, repurposing and reusing no longer needed hearing aids.

Help us to recycle hearing aids?

Help us to recycle hearing aids?

We are appealing for people to donate theirs or their loved ones hearing aids.  To support us in our aim to make these tiny pieces of life changing technology available to deaf people at home in the UK and around the world from Africa and Pakistan to Eastern Europe.  The simple act of donating hearing aids to Hearing Aid Recycling will enable us to repurpose and redistribute them where they will have the most positive impact.

It’s super simple to donate any no longer needed hearing aids.  Either by dropping them to one of over 1100 collection centres or by popping them in the post to us.

Every hearing aid can make a massive difference – thank you!

Who will the donated hearing aids benefit?

There are over 360 million deaf people worldwide, more than 50 million of them children, without access to an NHS equivalent.  A child born without hearing is not only deaf but also never learns to talk, so is condemned to being mute too.

It is very humbling how quickly a child given hearing aids and therefor made able to hear speech also learns to replicate it. Transforming their whole existence and life potential.

Hearing Aid Recycling will strive to make sure, where possible, every donated hearing aid will be reused to help reduce this problem around the world.

Why is recycling hearing aids so important?

Why is recycling hearing aids so important?

Nearly all UK hearing aids end up in landfill. Donate your hearing aids to Hearing Aid Recycing and we’ll stop this!

It seems irreconcilable that on a planet of scarce resources and much need, we are throwing away these life changing bits of technology. Now, more than ever, amidst our climate crisis, it is important that we extend the life of appliances. For as long possible, in as sustainable a way as can be. This means, giving things a ‘next use’ in as close to their original form. Refurbishing and redistributing a hearing aid to a ‘next user’, as a hearing aid, is the most energy efficient, sustainable, thing to do with it.

Hearing Aid Recycling are committed to zero landfill.  Every hearing aid will be reused or recycled to components to feed back into the manufacturing supply chain.

What we hope to achieve from our mission to recover, repurpose and reuse UK hearing aids:

We are striving to improve lives at home and abroad through better hearing. Working with the manufacturers to maximise the lifespan and human benefit, of each of their appliances, through creating circular economy.

Around 1.5 million hearing aids (NHS and Private) are dispensed in the UK each year. Many are never worn and nearly all are thrown away. With your help we aim to recover 200,000 hearing aids each year. Transforming millions of lives, around the world, over the next 10 years.
