Hearing aid donation centres hitting the news in Suffolk

Hearing Aid Donation centres hit the news in Suffolk!  Hearing Aid Recycling launches appeal for Suffolk residents to donate no longer needed hearing aids after support from Farthing Funeral Service in Felixstowe.

Thank you Mr Durrell and Martyna Wiecha.

We’ve already said a HUGE thank you to Mr Durrell from Felixstowe for donating his aunt’s no longer needed hearing aids.  Also to Sam Kershaw, from Funeral Partners, for letting our mission, to make donating hearing aids as simple as possible, capture his imagination.  For his support in adding the Funeral Partners Funeral Director Branches as drop off points for people to donate hearing aids for Hearing Aid Recycling.

More reasons to be grateful to Sam Kershaw of Funeral Partners too!

As we’ve mentioned in an earlier post Hearing Aid Recycling Founder and Sam Kershaw of Funeral Partners met at the National Association of Funeral Directors Annual General Meeting in Cardiff in 2022.  It’s possibly no surprise that our mission to get people to donate their no longer needed hearing aids to Hearing Aid Recycling struck a chord with Sam.  Like Founder Zoe, he’s also been a long time wearer of hearing aids.  Also, like Founder Zoe, he has now donated his previous and no longer needed hearing aids to Hearing Aid Recycling.  They arrived in the post this week.  Here they are:

Hearing Aid Donation centres hit the news in Suffolk! Do you, like Sam, have any no longer needed hearing aids?

Sam let us know they were on the way by email:

“I have eventually found my old hearing aids and will send them in.

Mine are CROS system, with the right-hand earpiece acting as a microphone transmitting the sounds to the left had receiver.

The little wire has broken off of the right hand one, but easily replaced.

Hopefully, they will make a helpful donation.”

He’s absolutely right.  The little wire is easily fixable and they do make a really helpful donation.  So, please if you have any no longer needed hearing aids.  Even if they need a little bit of refurbishing.  Please do send them in.  We’re always happy to receive them.  Either via our donation centres such as Farthings of Felixstowe, at any of our other 1200 collection centres which you can easily find on our map and County list or you can post them direct to us at this address.

Felistowe: Not only a great place to donate hearing aids but also, just, a great place!

We didn’t know very much about Felixstowe before our collaboration with Funeral Partners and Mr Durrell’s very kind donation.

Apparently not only is Felixstowe a great place to donate your hearing aids to Hearing Aid Recycling but it is also:  a well loved, traditional seaside resort known for its Blue Flag quality sand and shingle beach, long promenade, perfectly kept seafront gardens and variety of seaside attractions.  There are various signs of historic sea defences.  From the six Martello Towers built to prevent Napoleonic invasion, which stand on Felixstowe’s coast going towards Aldeburgh, to the Groynes Sea Defences.

We think the Groynes sea defences look absolutely beautiful here at sunrise covered in aged seaweed.  A piece of history being slowly taken over by nature.

We, also, looked up the 10 best things to do in Felixstowe according to Trip Advisor.  You can see what they suggest here.

Hearing Aid Donation centres hit the news in Suffolk! We welcome donations of all no longer needed hearing aids.

If you’d like to read Matyna Wiecha’s piece about Hearing Aid Donation centres hitting the news in Suffolk, here’s a link to it below.  Again, we’re so grateful to everyone in Suffolk from Sam to Mr Durrell and Martyna for their help with our Hearing Aid Recycling campaign.  However, we’d like to just quietly point out that we really do welcome donations of all hearing aids.  They don’t as the article says need to be ‘unused’.  Pre-loved as with Sam Kershaw’s and Hearing Aid Recycling’s Zoe’s are perfect too.  Even if they need a little TLC, they can still make a very useful donation.  We’d also like to say that Hearing Aid Recycling and HT are one and the same.  Working towards transforming lives around the world through access to better hearing.  We’ve changed our name but not our mission!
